Book 5 in 2021

Top Secret by Sarina and Elle - 4/5

I never read a male/male romance before but a review got me inspired to read something different.

Obviously I can't relate except to the fact that "a man can be hot" and so I understand the attraction described between the main characters. Sometimes I found it a liiiittle hard to read(imagine) some of the scenes heheheh but the writing, especially about their chemistry, was fucking amazing. I was hooked from page one. The storyline was very entertaining!

You know you’re completely nerding out on your books when you start taking pictures with them haha.

My love for books could not have come back at a better time though. It was around March last year. Which is so timed it’s almost a joke. Time of isolation(ish) calls for time spent reading. Or you are basically wasting your time! (;

floating ahead of time

Every morning I pack orders and go to the post office but today I wasn't satisfied and felt friskier than usual. So I took the car to big Tesco. Completely not necessary but that's the kind of wild we're going for in these times. ;)

I came home with a few things not worth mentioning and I felt happy. Mostly because -any time spent in my car-  I'm like a new person. Music, me, myself and my thoughts is all I need sometimes.

Day by day we are getting to the end of lockdown and we do small things to make those days a little easer. However we can.

This came in the post today. It got its perks being in a book club ♥

there is no such thing as wrong or forbidden there is just beauty

They say schools might reopen in March, just in time for Olivia's birthday.
Lately both our girls have expressed how they miss school and friends.
Of course I understand them. As much as it's nice to be at home and "relax" it get's boring AF even for little minds.
Rio also just got into a local nursery and for his little restless soul it will do him so good.
Also I'm desperate to meet new people in the area and through my child's school/nursery, this is the easiest way.

just be

It's been a time of temporary routines. Bubble baths in the morning, eating in the sofa, going to bed way after bedtime, going to bed before bedtime. Going for crazy long walks because we can.
I do enjoy the little things but I can't wait for life to continue as it should and for my kids to flourish in the outside world. Kids adjust easily and so do I but I just want to see them having fun with their friends again. And I miss my coffee dates with my friends from far away.

Fresh flowers are scattered around the house because it adds a bit of spring. A bit of hope.

Book 4 in 2021

The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain - 5 / 5 stars.

I am out of breath. This book will stay with me forever. It is such a beautiful, clever storyline and I was in
a FLOOD. In a good way. ♥

We follow Carly in 1970 whose unborn baby needs a heart surgery in order to survive, but in the 70’s this surgery
is not available. Her new brother-in-law claims he is a time traveller and can send her to year
2001 where the baby can have the surgery while inside the womb.

A series of events leads from there which makes you think and rethink everything about time and what it really is..

freedom is oxygen for our soul

Its been snowing for 2 days but no snow stays on the gruond even if it's freezing. Like the coldest winter in 10 years kind-of-cold. There might be some scientific reason for it that I dont understand cant be arsed to find out. Sooo, yeah, that's it. Its literally ALL I have to say haha. Yep, life's fun right now.

Ok, homeschooling is going well and next week is half term. I really can't tell who is more excited, me or the kids? Lol.
For the people who dont understand entirely: homeschooling takes up pretty much the whole day. Depending on the independence of your child and the system of the particular school of course. For us, it takes up about 8 hours of the day. Including short breaks. Lunch time has never been more anticipated hehh.

Book 3 in 2021

Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf - 3/5 stars

This isn't the usual book I’d read but it was the book club’s pick. I was pleased it was fairly short as I wasn't a fan of the writing style. I enjoyed reading something outside of my comfort zone so it was still worth it. And it was sweet enough for me to watch the Netflix Movie they made from it.
Update: The book was better for sure.

Just for the sheer heck of it

About 2 weeks ago I started my new daily two R's. Reading and Running. Every.Day.No.Exception.
Not because I have to but because I want to.
Without even exaggerating the slightest, I'm feeling SOOO good!
I have been reading for a good while but the running part (ok lets be real- it's jogging) has been a life changer.

So, lockdown has been for.. an unbearable time now but I guess its life and you get through it no matter what.
It gets lonely, it gets boring and I feel like If anyone makes eye contact with me in the shop Im going to tell them my life story. Hah!
It's making me so social, to the point where I could say anything. And if I had some secret thoughts and the right question was asked I would probably even spell them out too lol.

Feeling positive though. This whole thing will be over, and it will be over with a shebang
